Biography

Adelaide's family changed their surname from Billet to Beyette (which would be how Billet is pronounced in French.) She and her husband Joseph Dashnau had 9 children, 8 surviving. And many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I'm not sure when they moved to US but I believe all the children were born in New York State. They lived for a while in Fair Haven, NY but then spent the rest of their lives in Oswego, NY. along with most of their children and great-grandchildren.

I believe that Adelaide was a descendant (daughter) of Joseph Billet and Emilie Chamaillard who were married in Montreal in 1848. But haven't verified that yet.

Ada had a twin sister who was called "Addie" (her preference) but she may have been Adele (Carr).
