Biography
The 1851 England and Wales Census lists Alexander as an 11 year old white boy living with his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and an aunt on London Street in Stepney, Middlesex, England. His birth is estimated to have happened in 1840 in Dublin and his occupation is recorded as "Sea Fareing's Son."[1]
