Biography

Faye Etta was the fourth child of Harry Edwin Bible (1867–1936) and Effie Adella Clark (1872–1931), who were married on 18 October 1891 in McDonough county, Illinois. She had three older siblings; Blanche 1892, Otto 1895 and Ralph 1896 and four younger siblings; Garnet 1900, Florine Hetrick 1904, William Wayne 1907 and Leo 1910.

Residence in 1900 was at Bethel Township, McDonough county, Illinois.^[1] Fay 2 and Rolf [Ralph] 4 were at home with their mother, Effie 28. Blanch 8 and her brother, Otto 6, were at school. Her father, Harry 33 was a farmer. Her Uncle William and Aunt Lillie were next-door neighbors and her Uncle Grant and Aunt Dellila lived two house away on the other side.

Residence in 1910 was in Bushnell township of McDonnough county in Illinois.^[2] Fay 11 was at home with Blanche 17, Otto 15, Ralph 13, Garnet 9, Florine 5, Wayne 2 and their mother, Effie 37. Her father, Harry 42 was "working out" as a farm laborer.

Faye was married to Clinton George Jacoby on 26 May 1917 in Macomb of McDonough county in Illinois. Clinton was the on of George Clinton Jacoby (1847–1931) and Allithier Emma "Allie" Jones (1860–1943), who were married on 23 September 1880 at Carthage, Hancock, Illinois. They had one child, a son, named George Clinton, and born on 1 April 1918 in Illinois.

Residence in 1920 was in Tennessee village in Tennessee township of McDonough county in Illinois.^[3] Fay 21 was at home with George, age 20 months. and her husband, Clinton 28 was a mechanic at an auto garage. They were renting their house.

Residence in 1930 was in Macomb city of McDonough county in Illinois.^[4] Fay 31 and her son, George 12, were at home. Her husband, Clinton 38, was a carpenter contractor. They were renting their house for $20 per month and did not own a radio.

Her mother, Effie, died in 1931 and her father, Harry, died in 1936.

Residence in 1940 was in Macomb city of McDonough county in Illinois.^[5] Faye 41 was a maid at a hotel. Her son, George 22, was an attendant at a gas and oil station. Her husband, Clinton 48, was a carpenter and a building contractor. Fay finished eight grades of school, George finished four years of high school and Clinton attended high school for three years. They were renting their house for $15 per month.

Her son, George, was killed on 29 September 1944, along with eight others, when B-24J Liberator #42-73161 crashed two miles west of the airfield. Second Lieutenant Jacoby served with the 233rd Base Unit Combat Crew Training Squadron, Alamogordo Army Air Base, New Mexico.^[6]

Faye died in 1954 and her burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery at Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois.^[7]
