Biography

William Walter was the sixth child and third son of Josiah Emmert Bible (1834-1897) and Caroline Elizabeth Walker (1842-1893), both were born in, and also married in, Coshocton county, Ohio. His obituary states that he was born in Ohio and came with his family to Illinois when he was a young boy. All of his census records show he was born in Illinois.

Residence: 1880 Bethel, McDonough, Illinois.[1]

Marriage: 11 April 1897 Drew Lillie Van Winkle.

Residence: 1900 Bethel, McDonough, Illinois.[2]

According to his obituary, in the year 1907, a niece Lola Van Winkle was taken into this home and cared for as their own. Lola was the daughter of Lillie's only brother, whose wife apparently died, necessitating the relocation of his children. Lola was about seven years old at the time.

Residence: 1910 Bethel, McDonough, Illinois.[3] It is not known why Lola was not recorded in this household at this time.

Lillie passed away on July 31, 1919, according to his obituary

Residence: 1920 Bethel, McDonough, Illinois.[4] This record shows that he was widowed.
Residence: 1930 Macomb, McDonough, Illinois.[5]
Residence: 1940 Macomb, McDonough, Illinois.[6]

Willie passed away on 11 December 1953 and his burial was in the Archer-Bethel Cemetery at Fandon in McDonough county, Illinois.[7][8]
