He married Gertude Jane Norris June 15, 1907, in Putnam, Tennessee. Though, oddly, her name is not specifically mentioned, the marriage is documented in a marriage bond posted by her father, W. H. Norris, and the groom.[1]
After the (apparent) death of Gertude, he married Vival Lee Turner on October 4, 1920, in Overton, Tennessee.[2]
Virgil passed away April 21, 1934, in Overton, Tennessee, and is buried in the Hanging Limb Cemetery .[3]
