John Biddle was born in 1706 or 1707 in Mansfield, Burlington, New Jersey. He was the son of William Biddle II and Lydia Wardell Biddle.[1][2]

He moved to Philadelphia with his brother William and was quite successful in business there.[1]

He married Sarah Owen on March 3, 1736 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[3] They had five children:

Owen
Clement
Sarah
Ann
Lydia

John died on October 29,1789 in Philadelphia and is buried in the Arch Street Meeting House Burial Ground there.[2]

Research Notes

Picton[1] gives his birth day in 1707, while Find a Grave[2] says 1706. I have used 1707, but there is no particular reason to choose between them.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
