Biography
The Biden immigrant ancestor was the one born in Sussex, not the one born in Huntingdonshire. [1] William was baptized on 02 March 1789, Westbourne, Sussex, England.[2] If the 20 December birthdate at Findagrave is correct, perhaps he was born on 20 December 1788 (or 1787?) and then baptized the following March. The headstone clearly says 1787.
William had four known siblings: John Biden, christened at Westbourne on November 17, 1786; Hope Biden, christened at Westbourne on September 11, 1791 and buried in the churchyard just fifteen days later; Hannah Biden, christened at Westbourne on January 20, 1793; and James Biden (Henry Biden's father), who was christened at Westbourne on July 27, 1800. He married Ann Pitney at the same church on January 1, 1826, and later became a master builder living in Portsea, where he died in 1874.
On 13 Feb 1822 in Baltimore, Maryland he married Mary Elkins.[3]
William died on November 24th, 1849 in Maryland. His burial was at Loudon Park Cemetery located in Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland, United States. [4]
