Solemn Requiem Rites Held Tuesday For J. E. Bieganek

Joseph E. Bieganek, 54 years old, county commissioner and implement dealer at Harding, died Saturday, January 19th, at 2:30 a.m., at University hospital, at Minneapolis, from a kidney ailment from which he'd been suffering the past few years.

Rev. J. Alfred Kroll officiated at the Holy Cross church in Harding on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, with Rev. John Kroll, Foley, as deacon and Rev. Aloysius Kroll, Brennyville, subdeacon. Interment was in the church cemetery. The sisters of St. Francis convent sang the requiem and played the organ.

Joseph Bieganek was born in Holdingford April 15, 1897. At the age of 20 he moved to Harding, where he married Rose Deering on February 9, 1920.

Mr. Bieganek was Harding's first Postmaster, was a member of the Pulaski town board, a church trustee, and a member of the Holy Cross Faternity and Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife and 12 children. They are Sister Mary Justine, OSF, Osakis; Mrs. Herman Mayer (Marion) and Anthony, Eagle Bend; Elephege, USN, Quonset Point, Rhode Island; Mrs. William Austin (Helen) Brainerd; Mrs. Henry Preimesberger, Jr. (Delores), Pierz; Stanley, Leo Theodore, Thomas, Rita, and David, Harding.

A brother, Mike, Harding, and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Puchalla of Minneapolis, also survive.

Pallbearers were Harold Turner, Steve Otremba, Martin Kokett, Gust Hodorff, Leo Billstein, and Richard Plettl. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Simereau, Anthony Deering, Herman Hoffman, Stanley Piasecki, Frank Skwira and Steve Skochenski.
