Bielicki, Augustin (1873-1939) Waćmierz, the son of Johann Jacob Bielicki & Catharina Francisca Jabłońska, was known in New Zealand as Thomas August. He travelled for Hamburg with his Uncle Martin & Aunt Marianna Bielicki, where they set aboard the “Terpischore” 15 Nov 1875, arriving at Port Nicholson, Wellington, 18 Mar 1876. Listed aboard was—Augustin Bielicki 2. They travelled south to Germantown (Waikaka Valley) where his uncle purchased property. Thomas August m. (2 Jun 1896) Church of the Blessed Sacrement, Gore, Rose Halfka (Haftka), whose family had also arrived on the “Terpischore”. Thomas & Rose had 5 boys & 1 girl while employed with the New Zealand railways as a ganger, platelayer, surfaceman and engineer. He later naturalised as a New Zealand citizen 10 Oct 1923, residing at Edendale. Thomas died 19 Mar 1939 aged 65 and is buried at the Eastern Cemetery, Invercargill.
