How could he die in 1865 if he is on the 1870 census and filed a pension application in 1871?

Please merge this profile into the correct man, Feathers-17. This person has no connection to the Cherokee man named Bigfeather or to his family.
posted on Feathers-145 (merged) by Kathie (Parks) Forbes
Feathers-145 and Feathers-17 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly meant to be the same man. No connection to the Cherokee man named Bigfeather (Cherokee-181)

This profile needs to either be merged into Feathers-17, the real John Feathers, or renamed and rewritten to apply to a member of the Bigfeather family.

Feathers-156 and Feathers-17 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate - Feathers-156 was created after Feathers-17 - Feathers-156 profile has been updated and matches relatives in profile Feathers-17 - Clearly same person

The parents of the John Bigfeather in the attached census, born about 1868, are unknown. No family members other than wives and children are listed anywhere. As of 1902 this John did not speak English.

Dawes card 7311 is for the family of a man named John Silk. His wife, Nellie, was born in 1878, the daughter of Ben and Nellie Bigfeather. Ben was born about 1850, the son of George and Jennie Bigfeather. This was a fullblood family who had only Cherokee names prior to 1880. The Cherokee census of 1835 is the first to record the Cherokee. No Cherokee lived in Indian Territory before 1827, it didn’t exist.

When I am talking about all caps, I am not referring to the title of a book. You are leaving notes that are in all caps. the entire note is in all caps, not the title of a book.

I am not going to argue with you. You're not worth my time and effort. But if you do make changes that are aggressive, littered with personal comments, or in all caps, I will delete it.

Every time you deleted my contributions on all shared ancestors profiles I get notice in activity log. You did delete lots, considered sources.

You or a ghost removed my contribution. When posting name of book ex., DESCENDANTS OF THOMAS CLARKSTON & NELLIE FEATHERS By BINGHAM, Elton The book is about our shared descendants and parentage of Ellender Nellie Feathers. (Caps are correct)

Using all caps is equivalent to yelling.
