Note: of Benenden, Kent, was born probably between 1445 and 1455 at the latest. He married Alice Glover, daughter of John Glover of Benenden. This we learn from the wills of her father and of her brother, Thomas. John Bigge died at an early age, probably at about 30. He must have been ailing, for he had time to make his will. altho he named no children, he did bequeath to his sons. So, he had at least two when he died. Of these, Richard apparently was the only one to survive for long, for only Richard was named in the will of his grandfather Glover in 1489. Since Alice was not among the legatees of John Glover, she too probably died between 1479 and 1490. ...^[3]

Regarding my lands in Benynden willed to me by Richard Bygg my father, lately deceased, I give all my lands and tenements to my mother for life and after her death to be divided among all my sons at the age of eighteen years. If they all die before such age withoug lawful issue, reversion to my brothers Robert Bygg and Thomas Bygg, who on entering into th eland shall pay L20 as follows: L10 to a priest to pary for a year in the church of Benynden for my soul, the souls of my father, my mother, and Alice my wife, and of the other L10, 5 marks to my sister Ktherine and the residue in various gifts to the church.
