Biography

Vernon was born on December 29, 1902 in Crawford County, Iowa. Vernon is the child of Howard Biggs and Elsie Peacock.

Vernon passed away on February 18, 1993 in Jefferson, Greene County, Iowa and was buried in the Jefferson Cemetery. A memorial can be found on Find A Grave.

An obituary was published in The Des Moines Register on February 19, 1993.

Vernon L. Biggs, 91, of Jefferson died of a stroke Thrsday at Greene County Medical Center. Privvate burial will be Saturday in Jefferson Cemetery. No services are planned.

Mr. Biggs, a retired farmhand, was born in Crawford County.

A sister, Lura Louk of Jefferson, survives.

The family will visit with frinds from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hastings Funeral Home.[1]

1910 - United States federal census - In 1910, Howard Biggs, 33, is living as a farmer near Goodrich, in Crawford County, Iowa , with his wife Elsie, 31. The two children are listed as Etsal Biggs, 10, and Vernon Biggs, 8.[2]

1920 - United States federal census - In 1920, Howard F. Biggs, 43, and his wife, Elsie, 42, were living in Cedar Township, Greene County, Iowa. Also in the household, were Ethel Lura Biggs, 20, and Vernon Biggs, 18.[3]

February 18, 1993 - Death - Jefferson, Greene County, Iowa.
