Biography

Ellen (Nellie) Bignill was born at Castlemaine, Victoria, about 1880, her birth being registered there that year, as Christina Eleanor, the daughter of Elijah Bignill and Sarah Schultz. At that time, the family surname was usually Bignill, though it does appear as Bignell in later records. ^[1]

In 1902, in Victoria, as Ellen Christina, she married James Allen Sorrell. ^[2]

Nellie Christina Sorrell passed away in 1906, aged 25 years. Her death was registered Prahran, Victoria, with her parents indexed as Elijah Bignell and Sarah Schultze. ^{[3] [4]}
