Azema Bijeau, daughter of Ursin Bijeau and Magdeleine Richard, was born on 15 June 1815 in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was baptized on 9 April 1820 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Grand Coteau, St. Landry Parish. Her sponsors were Placide Guilbau and Sidalize Cormier. Father Hercule Brassac performed the ceremony.
