Biography

Albert lied about his age in order to enlist in the First World War (his attestation paper for enlisting shows the last '9' in '1899' marked over by a '6'). He was a member of the 82nd "Abegweit Light Infantry" Regiment prior to enlisting, and was a member of the 105th Battalion. Was also a fisherman. Served in the Veterans Guard of Canada (as noted on his military headstone). Mother listed as 'Lena Walsh' on marriage record, which is likely Selina Dawe, but entered as separate record in case is different person.

Date of birth noted on 1901 census as Dec. 22, 1898. Death date noted from military headstone.[1]
