My name is Marilyn Beeston (from Australia) married to Jim Beeston, unfortunately, no children. I have one sister Christine McCourt. Chris is married to Laurie and they have threechildren, one daughter and two sons.
It has taken me sometime to understand this website and I still get lost. I have more time at the moment so, hopefully wilI accomplish something. I suffer with Parkinson's disease, which slows me down a bit, I get very tired during the afternoons and usually sleep another reason I am so far behind in gettting things done.
I am also a fabric artist, but these days was a fabric artist as I do not do as much now. My mother taught me to sew when I was about 10-11 and I went from there
My mother is from New South Wales and Dad from Geelong, Victoria. My maternal grandmother grew up at Oatley on the Georges River, we also spent time there. Dad's family moved to Rutherglen on the border of Victoria and New South Wales. Growing up we spent time at both places.
Genealogy, always wanted to do this for two reasons, Dad knew and lived with his parents but at times believe he may have spent time in a Children's home, I have not confirmed this. During WW1 Dad's father was disowned by the family for going to war. Moving to New South Wales he never got to know the Bilston side of the family.
Secondly on Mum's side, my Nanna was born in a hospice for young ladies who were pregnant but not married. HOWEVER, she was raised by a wealthy individual called Richard Hartley Fletcher. Still trying but getting nowhere fast.
