Biography

Milly Bingham was 18 years old when she married George Deatherage. He was 48. He died at the age of 91 in Stokes County, North Carolina, on February 4, 1807. After his death, she took her family to Kentucky. In 1826, Millie moved to Morgan County, Illinois with seven of her sons, settling one mile west of Waverly in the settlement known as Appalonia. The Deatherages of Morgan County are all descendants of Milly Deatherage, a brave pioneer woman.[1]

  3. Coleman Deatherage m. Elizabeth Deatherage
  4. William Deatherage m. Lucretia Strawn Rogers
  5. Thomas Deatherage (returned to Kentucky)
  6. James Deatherage m. Frances Lankford
  7. George Deatherage m. Minerva Rogers
  8. Achilles Whillet Deatherage m. Malinda Rogers

Millie died on 29 Dec 1855 in Morgan County, Illinois and was buried at Rogers Cemetery in Waverly, Morgan County, Illinois where seven generations of her own descendants now rest. [2]

It looks like there may be duplicate records for Millie and husband George.

George Deathrage (1711 - 1807) Mildred Amelia Bingham (1765 - 1855) using the same Find A Grave links, etc. Since this is under a project, it is probably better for the project group to research and institute a merge, if needed. Thank you.

1850 census has her living in Illinois with son George and wife Minerva "Minnie" and states born in Kentucky.
