Milly Bingham was 18 years old when she married George Deatherage. He was 48. He died at the age of 91 in Stokes County, North Carolina, on February 4, 1807. After his death, she took her family to Kentucky. In 1826, Millie moved to Morgan County, Illinois with seven of her sons, settling one mile west of Waverly in the settlement known as Appalonia. The Deatherages of Morgan County are all descendants of Milly Deatherage, a brave pioneer woman.[1]

Millie died on 29 Dec 1855 in Morgan County, Illinois and was buried at Rogers Cemetery in Waverly, Morgan County, Illinois where seven generations of her own descendants now rest. [2]
