Hello,

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

Guy ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Ruth.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors?

Let me know. I can help you figure out if there's a project and introduce you to the project leaders.

Hello,

Thank you for signing the Honor code. Collaboration, accurate information and good sources are the basis for a great WikiTree.

By signing the Honor Code you're telling others you are a responsible Wiki genealogist.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Have a nice journey on Wikitree,

Guy - Wikitree Mentor / Leader

Hi!

How are you? I'm Guy a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

Check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.

Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

When creating profiles, remember to add where you found the information. See: Sources

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Guy

P.P.S. I notice you have the GEDCOM badge. WikiTree Help pages give lots of information about the process; a good starting place is Before you import a GEDCOM. And here's a link to great instructions on adding a GEDCOM to WikiTree that you might find helpful.

Hi again!

I’m so glad you found us. I just confirmed you as a member (once you sign the Honor Code, you’ll be a full member – aka a Wiki Genealogist). An important aspect of WikiTree is providing sources for information (even if it’s just "Aunt Louisa told me in 1984...") – my profile page has a link to Sources Resources, where I’ve tried to provide an overview of source information.

Give G2G or me a holler if you get stuck on anything, and thank you for joining our collaborative tree. Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.

Enjoy!

Hello,

My maternal Great Aunt who was a historian at Oxford did some family research on the maternal side of my mother's family who where Quakers from Suffolk and Norfolk and came from Huguenot routes, England. I have done quite a bit of extra research of my own on my maternal grandfather who was from Ireland and moved to England in 1900, and my father's family mostly from Bristol and Gloucestershire, England. I have also done some research for a few friends.
