Susan Ann Binks was born 20th June, 1848, in the district of Launceston, Van Diemen's Land, as the daughter of James Binks, shoemaker, and his wife Ann Hutchings. Her father registered her birth on 26th June, giving his mark and stating they lived West Tamer. (Susan may have been born there.) [1][2]
In 1866, now on the mainland, in the Colony of Victoria, Susan Binks married Edmund Gray. [3]
Susan Gray passed away in 1900, her age recorded 53 years. Her death was registered Stawell, Victoria, her parents indexed as 'Jas Buck' and Ann Hutchins. [4]
Susan and Edmund are interred in the Stawell (Pleasant Creek) Cemetery where their large headstone reads:-[5]
