Albert Birch was born on 23 August 1904 in Sale, Cheshire, his father, Ernest, was 35 and his mother, Louisa, was 34. He married Marjorie Birch in September 1931 in Barton Upon Irwell, Lancashire. He died in April 1989 at the age of 84.
