John Birch was born about 1666 the second son of Thomas Birch, rector of Hampton Bishop in Herefordshire, and his wife, Mary. [1] He was educated at Gray's Inn and Middle Temple and was called to the Bar in 1687. [1]
Sometime before 14 July 1691 he married his cousin, Sarah Birch, daughter of John Birch and his wife, Alice Deane. They were grandchildren of Samuel Birch and his wife, Mary Smith. They had no children.[1] John was first returned to Parliament as member for Weobley in 1701 and held the seat until his death.[1]
Sarah died in 1702 and on 26 January 1704 John married Letitia Hampden, daughter of John Hampden and his wife, Sarah Foley. Again there were no children. [1]
John passed away on 6 October 1735. [1]
