Jemima (Birch) Harbinson was born in Swingfield, Kent, England.

Jemima Caroline (Carrie) Birch was born on 12 Sep 1841 in Swingfield, Kent, England to parents William Henry Birch and Mary Ann Rogers. She was christened on 14 Nov 1841 in Westbere, Kent, England.^[1]

In 1851 she was age 9 and living with her widowed father and her siblings in Swingfield, Kent, England. Her father was an agricultural laborer.^[2]

She immigrated to America before 1871.

She married George Washington Charles Harbinson on 8 Jul 1871 in Rowan, North Carolina.^[3]

She died on 7 Aug 1919 in Oakland, Alameda, California, and was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery there.^[7][8]
