This John Byrd is most likely not descended from the Byrds at Westover. Per Find A Grave entry for son of William Byrd III by second wife, John Carter Byrd, 1750-1830, had a will stating he had no children. Find A Grave entry further states that there is a John Bird in Greene County, Tenn. that comes out of a German Line of Byrds (Barth). There is also an Amos Byrd born 1735 that lives in Greene County, Tenn. who dies in 1818 in Missouri; that these two men are being mixed with John Carter Byrd. : https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/102695872/john-carter-byrd
To complicate the record, the son of William Byrd III, John Carter Byrd, was active in Greene County, KY, which, at the time, was Washington County, NC, and he died there, despite living with his wife in Williamsburg, Virginia.
