Winifred "Winnie" was born about 1786 in Henry Co., Va.[1] Her probable parents were John Bird and Sarah Harvey.[2]
On 9 Dec 1806, in Franklin Co., she married Samuel Jamison.[3] Their children were Lewis, Rhoda, Thomas, Sarah "Sally," William, Marshall, John, Mary Jane, Wiley, and Samuel -- all born between 1807 and about 1830.[4]
In 1810, Samuel was on the census in Franklin Co.[5] with a household of a man and a woman, ages 16-25; two boys under age 10 (Lewis and ?); and one girl under age 10 (Rhoda).[6]
In 1820,[7] the household included a man and a woman, ages 26-44; three boys under age 10 (Marshall, William, and Thomas); two boys, ages 10-15 (Lewis and ?); two girls under age 10 (Sally and ?); and 1 girl, age 10-15 (Rhoda). There were also ten enslaved people: a woman over age 45; three girls under age 14; a man, age 26-44; two boys, ages 14-25; and three boys under age 14.
In 1850, Winnie and Samuel were on the census in Franklin Co. with their son Wiley, living on the property next to that of another son, John.[8]
Samuel died in 1859, in Franklin Co.[9][10] In 1860, Winnie was on the census with their son Wiley and his wife.[11] She died in 1867.[12]
