Biography
Derrick Bird's birth date has yet to be more closely determined. Death dates ranging from 1755 to 1763 have been seen in other trees. The following information was listed in this biography as a first-hand report when my line joined this one "Derrick was born in 1755. He passed away about 1841. [1]
According to the information in the Applications for Headstones for U.S. Military Veterans, 1925-1941 cited below, Derrick died 25 Aug 1831 and is interred at Forty Fort Cemetery in Luzerne, PA. for his service in the Pennsylvania Militia during the War of 1812. He held the rank of Private.
