Biography

James Bird or Byrd was born in October 1846 in Virginia, United States. He is the son of William Bird and Margaret (Cooper) Bird. In the 1850 census James (age 4) was at home with his parents, William Bird (age 45) and Margaret Bird (age 36) and seven siblings at Russell, Russell, Virginia, United States.[1]

James married Huldah Montgomery on 4 March 1869 at Morgan, Kentucky, United States.[2]

In the 1870 census James (age 22) was the head of household with wife Huldah (age 27) with two children at Morgan, Kentucky, United States.[3] In the 1880 census James (age 37) was the married head of household with wife Huldy (age 35) at Precinct 1 Ridge, Menifee, Kentucky, United States.[4] In the 1900 census James (age 54) was the married head of household with wife Huldie (age 62) and son Harlan (age 18) and his wife at Magisterial District 5, Menifee, Kentucky, United States.[5]
