1788, Jan. 19. Bird, Joseph, of Elizabeth Borough, Essex Co. Wife, Ursula, the goods she had when we were married and £100. Son-in-law, Samuel Force, £20. Son, Jeremiah, the use of 10 acres of my plantation, with the house where he now lives, which Is to bind the land of Joseph Lee, William Mills, John Craig, Hambleton Robin-

son and the highway; and, after the death of Jeremiah, the 10 acres are to be sold, and, of the money, I give 1/5 part to my daughter, Sarah, the wife of Samuel Force, Jr.; 1/5 to my grandson, Joseph, son of my son, Joseph, deceased, and the other 1/5 to 3 of my grandchildren, children of my son, Jeremiah, namely: Abigail, Charles and Samuel Bird. If Elizabeth, the wife of my son, Jeremiah, should outlive him, then I give to her the use of the 10 acres, while she is the widow of Jeremiah. Rest of real estate to be sold, or rented out till my youngest grandson, Joseph, is 21, and of the money I give Vs to my daughter, Sarah, wife of Samuel Force, Jr.; 1/5th to my grandson, Joseph Bird, and the other 1/5th to my grandchildren, Abigail, Charles and Samuel, the children of my son, Jeremiah.
