John Bird was born in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, England.
Jabez was born to George and Ann (nee Hornsby) in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, in 1847. [1] He was baptised in Sharnbrook in 1852. [2]
In 1853 the family, comprising the parents George and Ann, plus their children (Martha, David, Jabez, Hester and George) arrived in Geelong, New South Wales, aboard the Confiance. [3]
