Reginald Bird was born on 28 March 1919 in Ivanhoe, Victoria, Australia, the son of Dorothy Bird and Reginald Flockhart Bird.^[1][2]

His engagement to Elsie Mavis Peverell was announced in June 1940.^[3] The couple married in 1941 in Victoria.^[4] Their son was:

Reginald died in 1978 in Heidelberg, Victoria, aged 58 years.^[6]
