Biography
William Bird was a Canadian First Peoples and member of the Metis Nation.
William was born about 1840. He is the son of George Bird and Mary Thomas.
William Tom Bird (1840-1912) married Mary Jane Harriett Sutherland, daughter of James Sutherland.They had one son and two daughters; all came to Halcro Settlement with their parents in 1883 from Poplar Point.
- Sarah Ann Bird (August 3,1871-November 12, 1963, who married William George Cromartie (1867-1942) on January 1892; William and Sarah’s sons were Frederick, Newton, Oscar, William and Don.Their daughters were Jessie, Nellie, Emma, Lucy, Ella, Vera and Marie.
- William George Bird (1867-1942 who married Mary Jane Cromartie. William and Mary Jane’s sons were Hector, Sedley, Allan, Charlie and Reginald.The daughters were Irene, Carry, Eva, Violet and Elveny.
- Adelaine Bird married Selkirk Bannerman
