Obituary
After braving the storms of 94 winters, Mrs. Ellen Clister, widow of the late Peter Clister, died at her home near Markleysburg on Friday, October 11, 1910. Her death was due to a gradual physical breakdown accompanying extreme old age.
Mrs. Clister was the mother of seven children, six girls and one boy. Two daughters died before her. The surviving children are W.H. Clister, Mrs. Lucinda Tissue and Miss Matilda Clister, of Tissue; Mrs. Anna Sullivan, of Confluence; Mrs. Elizabeth Griffin, of Velvern, Kansas. Mrs. Clister is also survived by 26 grandchildren and about an equal number of great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will occur at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Arrangements are being made to have Rev. Samuel Umbel, father of Judge R.E. Umbel, conduct the services.[1]
