Billy was born in Oklahoma in 1924. Hw was the son of Jesse Luther Birdsong and Odessa Hamner. Billy was a skilled mechanic of motor vehicles in 1942 when he enlisted in the Air Corps to serve during WWII. In 1945 Billy married Betty Jean Quinn. They lived in North Little Rock, Arkansas where Billy passed away in 1975 at age 50.
