In the 1841 England Census William Birkbeck 45 born abt 1796 in Yorkshire, England, miner, was head of his household in Grinton, Yorkshire. Other Household Members, all born in Yorkshire, were his wife Ann Birkbeck 40, and their children Thomas Birkbeck 20, William Birkbeck 15, Robert Birkbeck 14, Mary Birkbeck 9, Duncomb Birkbeck 8, and Richard Birkbeck 5.
