George was born in 1746. His parents were John and Mary Birks. He was christened on 14 Jan 1746 at St Andrews Church, Bolton upon Dearne, Yorkshire.
He married Ann Rhodes on 31 March 1776 at Bolton upon Dearne, Yorkshire after banns had been read at Bolton upon Dearne and Doncaster, Yorkshire.
He passed away in 1819. He was buried on 24 Jul 1819 at Mexborough, Yorkshire.
