Biography
Catherine (Birky) Purk Nissen, 90, a resident of Community Care, Toledo, formerly of Belle Plaine, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 1995, in Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center, Marshalltown, of congestive heart failure. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Hrabak Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Dean Swartzendruber will officiate. Burial: Irving Cemetery, rural Belle Plaine.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Purk of Belle Plaine and Leonard Purk of Tama; and a sister, Mary Bender of Kalona.
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren.
