Biography

According to his 1918 U.S. Passport Application, George was born at Iowa Hill, California on 27 February 1866, the son of John Gould Bisbee (born Lewiston, Maine). At this time, George was following the occupation of wholesale fruit shipper.[1]

He married Julia Goyhen on 23 April 1892 in Kern County, California.[2]

"Local Siftings--Thursday, at the home of the bridge's parents in Tehachapi, Mr. George W. Bisbee of Newcastle was married to Miss Julia Goyhen. the groom is the son of our townsman, J.G. Bisbee, and is the head man in Kellogg's Fruit House in Newcastle. The bride was employed in the office of Mr. Kellogg last season and made herself very popular during her short stay in New Castle." [3]

He died 22 October 1924 in San Francisco at the age of 58.[4]

"In this city, October 22, 1924. George W. Bisbee, beloved husband of Julia Bisbee and loving father of Aileen Pringle, a native of California, aged 58 years. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, at 2 o'clock at the chapel of Halsted & Co., 1122 Sutter Street, under the auspices of California Commandery Knights Templar"[5]
