Hi David,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Debi

Hi William

I see that you have uploaded a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report. The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

And I see that you are interested in Germany. You may be especially interested in WikiTree's German Roots Project.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know. To contact me, log into WikiTree, and go to your profile. Use the Reply link below my comment to be sure that I will be notified. Alternatively, click my name to visit my profile. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.

Best of luck with your research!

Lothar, I am very interested in learning more about my ancestors from Germany. The first Bischoff (Paul) i believe was born 1580 Heid, Hildburghausen, Thüringen, Germany. I have researched many more.

The father of my spouse arrived from Dresden to New York Nov 1938. His name is Egon Gerson and is living near us in Colorado. He will be 100 on 15 Jan 2021. It is difficult researching his family. The family of the mother of my spouse arrived from Russian around 1900. I find nothing of them. May I join your group and research our German relatives and more important, share everything I have with others in the group. Sincerely, William David Bishoff. [email address removed] Bishoff-221
