Biography

Clowes Maurice Bishop was born Oct 9, 1918 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was a son of Harry Larkin Bishop and Mary Ellen (Clark) Bishop.[1]

He married Irene Margaret (Gibserson) Bishop Dec 19, 1940 in Fredericton.[2]

Clowes served in World War II as a drill sergeant. After the war, he was a police officer for a time and then founded Bishop's Funeral Home, where he was a funeral director for the remainder of his working life.[3]

He passed away Oct 17, 2005 in Fredericton after a battle with cancer and is interred at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.[3][4]
