Biography

According to the Bible record of Phillip and Mary Bishop, Dudley was born on the 8th day of December 1790.[1]

In 1830, Dudly Bishop was enumerated in Henry County, Georgia with:[2]

  • 2 males under 5,
  • 2 males 5-10,
  • 1 male 30-40,
  • 1 female 10-15,
  • 1 female 20-30

The 1840 Census recorded his household with:

  • 1 male under 5, [Philip Jart]
  • 1 male 5-10,
  • 1 male 10-15, [A. W.]
  • 1 male 40-50
  • 1 female 5-10,[M. J.]
  • 1 female 30-40

In 1850 Dudley's household consisted of:

  • Dudley Bishop, age 60, born North Carolina
  • Eliz, age 45, born Georgia
  • A. W., age 20, Male born Georgia
  • M. J., age 16, female born Georgia
  • P. J., age 13, born Georgia

By 1860, Dudley, age 70, was enumerated in Meriwether County Georgia with Martha, age 27, in the household.[3]

He had moved to Fayette County by 1880 where he was enumerated in the household of William J. Jacobs and wife, Mary J.[4]
