Henry Bishop (22 Jun 1846 - 8 Nov 1924) Age 78
On 22 June 1846 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, Henry Bishop was born, the 1st born child, of 8 known children that lived to adulthood, born to Aron/Aaron Bishop, (9 April 1826 - 16 March 1910) and Nancy Margaret Rollins. (abt 1827 - 27 April 1894).
The certificate of death reports his mother's name was Nancy Rollins, the 1850 US census reports his parents were Aaron and Peggy. Peggy is the traditional nickname for Margaret.

Together Henry Bishop and Mary Susan Hodgens had 12 known children, 6 sons and 6 daughters that survived to adulthood. There may have been other children but if so, they died as infants and no source documents have been found to support the claim.
There are known problems with the birth year for Nancy Elizabeth as reported by Find-A-Grave. It is not possible for her birth to have occurred in 1870. However, It is difficult to argue with engraved dates on tombstones. It is set in stone and it could not be a mistake, right. The FAG site does not have to address discrepancies. This profile accepts the biological fact that children are born 9 months apart. At this point in time the birth year for Joseph is 1870, the birth year for Nancy is 1872 and the birth year for William is 1873.

On 8 Nov 1924 in Piedmont, Anderson, South Carolina, Henry Bishop died. His Death Certificate states that he died from Bright's disease. This is an archaic term and no longer used in the medical community. The condition is now referred to as 'Nephritis'. Nephritis is an inflammation of the kidneys, caused by toxins, infection or autoimmune conditions.
His remains were laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery, Piedmont, Greenville, South Carolina. A Find-A-Grave memorial has been created for Henry Bishop. “Mrs. J. I. McCoy Dies At Home In Piedmont. Mrs. Suna Malissa McCoy of Piedmont passed away Sunday morning at her home in Piedmont after a lingering illness. Mrs. McCoy is survived by her husband, Joseph Iola McCoy, and four children. The following also survive her: Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bishop, of Piedmont; six brothers, J. M., W. E., J. T., J. H., J.R., and H.M. Bishop, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Davenport and Mrs. Lula Johnson. Mrs. McCoy had lived in Piedmont for ten years and during this time had been a devout member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at White Plains Baptist Church this afternoon at 3 o’clock and interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Rev.
