John married Elizabeth Fout or Foutz on 26 June 1809 in Botetourt County, Virginia. Surrety by John Fought and they were married by Joel Crumpacker. Jofanns Bishop (german script) and Jofanns Faught (german script) both signed their names to the marriage bond.
After Elizabeth passed away he married Phoebe Bean on 24 October 1831 in Botetourt County, Virginia. Phoebe and John are listed on the 1850 census with two of their grown children.[2]
John A. Bishop was a widow when he passed away on 18 May 1862 in Botetourt, Virginia. The informant was his son, John Bishop. He is buried in the Kelly Cemetery, Botetourt Co., Virginia.[3]
