William was born in 1898, son of Lawrence Bishop (1865-1927) and Ann E. Higham (1874-1905)[1]. He lived at 2639 Bridge Street with his parents[2] and older siblings Albert 6 and Ellen 5. His mother passed away when he was 7 years old. His father, he at age 12 with siblings Albert 16 and Ellen 15 moved in with his mothers mother[3] on Kirkbride St.
He married Mary McConnell in 1918 and registered for the WWI draft on Sept 12, listing his occupation as a machinist helper[4] They set up house on Elsinor Street in Chester;[5]Pennsylvania, Mary's siblings Sarah 19, Emma 17 and John 10 were living with them and they had 2 children Ethel 2 and Joseph 1, he worked in a shipyard. In 1930 they were the parents of 6 children; Ethel 11, Joseph 10, Emma 8, Margaret 6, Sarah 2 and new baby Florence[6] and he was employed as a salesman in a bakery. In 1940 they lived at 818 Elsinore Place, Ethel was now 21, Joseph 20, Emma 18, Margaret 16, Sarah 12 and Florence 10[7].

Bill worked for Freihofer Baking Co. and Troy Laundry.
The Bishops had six children, 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren [8]
He passed away in 1992 at the age of 94 [9], interred in the Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, USA[10]
