Tommie Louisa "Lou" Wilkinson (August 3, 1926 - July 31, 2011)

Tommie Louisa "Lou" Wilkinson, 84, of McComb died July 31, 2011 at the home of her daughter. She was born on August 3, 1926 in Braxton, MS to the late Rev. B. T. Bishop, Sr. and Louisa Sullivan Bishop.

She was a member of New Heights Baptist Church and retired from North Pike School District as a teacher. She taught government and economics for 23 years and always encouraged her students to register to vote and then vote. She taught Sunday School most of her adult life and said if she had been a man, she would have been a preacher. She loved to witness for Jesus and was concerned with lost souls. She loved her country and and was devoted to church missions. Mrs. Wilkinson was an avid NFL fan, especially Eli "Little Eli" Manning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Wilkinson, brothers, Curtis Bishop and B.T. Bishop, Jr. and a brother-in-law Leroy "Buddy" Brewer.

She was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alfred Byron Wilkinson and Annette; daughter and son-in-law, Jennie Lou Stockton and Dwight; grandchildren, Ray Wilkinson, Reese Wilkinson and his wife Nikki, Benji Stockton, and Brett Stockton and his wife Donna; great grandchildren, Alfred Ray Wilkinson, Maggie Wilkinson and their mother, Kathy Wilkinson, Wyatt Wilkinson, MacKenzie Stockton, and MacKayla Stockton; her sister, Mary Katherine Brewer; sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Bishop and Barbara Ann Bishop.

Visitation will be Monday, August 1, from 6 PM until 8 PM and continues Tuesday from 10AM until services at 11 AM in Hartman-Sharkey Chapel with the Rev. LaVerne Summerlin and Rev. Allen Dearing officating. Interment will be at Reeves Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ray Wilkinson, Reese Wilkinson, Benji Stockton, Brett Stockton, Alfred Ray Wilkinson, Luke Brewer, and Joseph Cothern.
