L. P. Bishop, Jr., age 82, a retired civil service worker, died at his Tallahassee, Fla. residence on April 13, 2002. He was a native of Simpson County and had served in the U.S. Air Force.

Services were held April 20 in the chapel of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee with burial in Magee City Cemetery.

Mr. Bishop is survived by two sons, Larry V. Bishop and Michael A. Bishop, both of Tallahassee, five grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. Bishop.
