Myra Belle Bishop was born on April 12, 1882, in Cedar Bluff, Alabama. She married Oliver Leslie Pool about 1901, in Floyd County, Georgia. She had three children by the time she was 26. She died on January 26, 1965, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the age of 82, and was buried in Rome, Georgia.
Maura Belle Bishop was a striking woman with olive complexion, raven black hair and a very sweet disposition. She was a very neat woman and always freshened up after the mornings work before doing her sewing, etc, in the afternoon. After the death of her husband she lived with her children, first with Ruby in Rome, then with Joe also in Rome, and finally with Gertrude in Chattanooga. She is remembered affectionately by her grandchildren.
She was born on the old Sewell Place in Yancy's Bend near Cedar Bluff, Cherokee County, Alabama on 12 April 1882. She died on 25 January 1965 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, and is buried in East View Cemetery in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia. Tombstone gives birthday of May 12 by mistake. It was actually April 12th. (Joe Poole)
