Obituary.
DEATH OF MRS. BISHOP.
The duty again devolves upon us of chronicling the death of another old resident, viz., Mrs. Caroline Bishop, mother of Mrs. George Bulmer, with whom she lived at Campbell's Hill, near the Woolla. The old lady died on Tuesday last, at 2 p.m., aged 81 years, and was buried on Wednesday afternoon in the Taree Estate Cemetery, alongside of the remains of her husband. A very large number of mourners attended the funeral — the service being conducted bv Mr. Stephen Whitbread, the Rev. R. H. Phillips being absent at Forster. The deceased lady lived in this district for about 36 years, and has left 11 daughters and 2 sons — all of whom are married — and a very large number of grand-children. The Rev. W. Ritchie, Anglican clergyman at Mount Vincent, near Newcastle, is a grandson [sic]. Mr. Bishop died nearly three years ago, and was also 81 years of age.[2]
