John emigrated from England to New Zealand with his wife and 6 children on board the ship "Oriental". They sailed from Plymouth on 22 June 1841, arrived into Wellington in October 1841 and then on to New Plymouth, New Zealand, arriving on 7 November 1841.[4]
Death
He passed away on the 1 February 1892 at his sons residence, in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand, age 86.[5]

Not sure how to spell john Bishop's middle name, so many different versions in sources, is his mother's maiden name spelled (Tiddby)? Can anyone help?
