Biography

Charles was born about 1794 in Horton Township, Kings, Nova Scotia. He was the son of Jonathan Bishop and Margaret Anderson.

He married 7 Oct 1819 in Shepody, Susan Rogers.^[1] Both parties were residents of Hopewell.

In 1871, Charles, farmer, widower, 76, born Nova Scotia was residing with his nephew Silas and his family in Hopewell. Martha, widow, 68 and Miner, farmer, 36.

He died 20 Feb 1872, aged 76 and is buried in the Shepody Cemetery, Hopewell, Albert Co., New Brunswick.

Wm Sears, 14th inst., Capt. Christopher Rogers / Elizabeth Bishop d/o Charles Bishop, all of Hopewell (Albert Co.)"
5. Susan, b. ca 1828, m. 13 Sep 1855, David Rogers, d. 25 Jan 1884. David was previously married to Susan's sister Sophronia. Res. Hopewell in 1861 with husband and 4 children. Res. Hopewell in 1871 with husband, 5 children and several in-laws. Res. Hopewell in 1881 with husband, 2 children. The 29 Feb 1884 edition of The Daily Telegraph reported: "d. Hopewell Hill (Albert Co.) 25th inst., Susan Rogers w/o David Rogers, 57th year."
