Biography

Nancy Bishop was born on 24 September 1785 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.^[1][2] She was the daughter of Jonathan Bishop and Sarah Bell.^[1][2]

She first married John Holmes on 17 February 1805 in Stamford.^[2] They had the following children:

1. John Holmes, born 16 Mar 1806^[2]
2. Sarah Holmes, born 8 Nov 1807^[2]
3. Catherine Holmes, born 30 Nov 1809^[2]
4. Mary Holmes, born 18 Oct 1813^[2]
5. Hannah E. Holmes, born 7 Apr 1816^[3]

Her first husband, John Holmes, died on 27 June 1822.^[4]

She second married Lewis Slawson on 5 October 1823 in Darien, Connecticut.^[2] They had at least one child:
