John was born on the 31 January 1842. At sea, on board the Timandra, en route to New Zealand, he is the son of Daniel Bishop and Louisa Caroline (Coombes) Bishop Birth Recorded in ship's log - "Mrs Daniel Bishop delivered of a son".
He married Mary Esther (Billing) Bishop on the 17 December 1865 at St Mary’s Church, New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand.[1]
They had two sons.
John Bishop, b 1866 - 1945
William Henry Bishop. b 1868 - 1956
Sadly John passed away on the 18 December 1969 in New Plymouth, age 26. He was buried at the Te Henui Cemetery, in the New Plymouth District, Taranaki, New Zealand.[2]
